Beauty and the Beast

On Spring break, the only day I was off work on, I went to see Beauty and the Beast. Well actually I went to see Get out which is a raided R movie and did not have my id with me and they asked to see it.  So I was forced to go see Beauty and the Beast in 3D. Going into the movie I didn’t think much of it because I just assumed it would be like any other Disney movie. My opinion did change though because Disney really did good on this old movie remake. Emma Watson honestly did an amazing job, there was not a single time her acting was questionable. Another thing that really surprised me about this 3D movie was that it didn’t give me a head ache. It was probably one of the best 3D movies I have ever personally watched! I really do recommend this movie to anyone that enjoys watching Disney movies.

Vacation trip

Honestly I have always wanted to go to Germany for vacation. Germany just a diverse country with many attractions that anyone would love. And it has a wide array of food, accommodations and drink options, Germany is traditionally less expensive to travel to than its other European counterparts. Even if its cheaper than most countries you could visit, I could always say I have been to Europe.

Should I buy a new car?

 

Buying a brand new car to me is just way over priced. You can spend about 20 thousand dollars on a new car and have basically nothing but a cheaply made object on wheels. Buying a used car on the other hand you can still get that cheap object on wheels if you want, but for a lower price since that value of the car has already dropped after it was first bought.

Are public Library’s in danger?

In recent years I have noticed that less and less people are just sitting down with a  book and reading. If i ask the most people if they have ever been to our cities public library they would not even know we have one. I do not know if city library’s are protected and funds from the government but they cant be making any profit at all. The punishment for taking a book and not bringing it back is not even that hefty either because i could go rent a book from any library and just never go back. That is a big way library’s could be losing money too.

A article by Forbes says, “I don’t think that library visiting will disappear as a behavior — just as visiting bookstores hasn’t disappeared as a behavior. However, enough demand will drop to cause industry failure. Why? Because libraries (and bookstores) have high fixed costs that need to be covered by a threshold level of demand.”

Possible to get rich?

Many people believe that it is very unlikely that you can become rich within your life time if you are coming up from nothing. Off course they believe you can if you have some amazing talent in sports or something but if you are the average ordinary person then they would not believe in you. In my opinion, which could be wrong since I am not rich, is if you work hard enough you will get what you deserve.

Here is what Market watch says about what rich people know that you do not:

1. As the old saying goes: The early bird catches the worm…or, in this case, gets to retire in style. The sooner you put your money to work, the more time it has to grow. Earning a paycheck, whether you are self-employed or work for a company, means the opportunity to contribute to an IRA, which you should seize ASAP. If you’re fortunate enough to get a job with a company that offers a matching contribution to their retirement plan, you need to make it a priority to enroll in the plan as soon as you are eligible. It can be the difference between retiring early and never retiring.
2. You can be your own worst enemy when it comes to financial success. It’s all too easy to procrastinate and neglect what needs to be done and, meanwhile, give in to temptation and spend more than you should. It’s the perfect recipe for not becoming rich.

Why should you get a dog from the animal shelter

Everyone I talk to now days always tells me to go get a animal from the animal shelter because it would save their lives. And in all honestly that is the main point of getting a pet in the first place, to bring love to them.  Each year, 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States, simply because too many pets come into shelters and too few people consider adoption when looking for a pet.

And if that number does not make you want to go adopt a new dog from the shelter here are more reasons to go get one by the dodo:

1. Rescue dogs can make incredible transformations when they are adopted into loving homes. 
2. Most rescue dogs are relinquished for reasons that have nothing to do with behavioral problems, and they are generally quite loving and gentle. 
3. If you adopt a dog, you’ll be giving him the gift of new adventures and exploration.
4. Your other animals might actually be grateful to have a new pal, as shelter dogs often get quite a bit of socialization before they’re adopted.
5. Dogs at shelters come in all shapes and sizes!
6. Choosing rescue dogs means that you won’t be supporting inhumane puppy mills.

Cat or Dog

Recently I have made the adult decision to get an apartment with a friend of mine. So that finally allows me to get a pet all to myself. Now the biggest question I have thought about though is if I should get a dog or a cat. I have had many dogs throughout my life time but i have never had one all to myself. I have never had a cat before though, but I have always thought cats to be just cheaper versions of dogs like a off bran type of thing. So then I started going in on researching how much a dog or a cat would cost me yearly.

A article on Yahoo News says this about dog and cats cost per year:

• Small dog – $1,314 the first year, $580 per year after
• Medium dog – $1,580 the first year, $695 per year after
• Large dog – $1,843 the first year, $875 per year after
• Cat – $1,035 the first year, $670 per year after

What all those cost consist of is the animals shots and vet bills, food, and toys. To me that really is just over priced. And a normal person wouldn’t be spending that much on a animal a year. And also the price you really spend would be how much you want your pet to be be pampered. Ill probably end up getting a dog because of how used I am to them, but getting a cat is something ill keep thinking about.

My favorite Photojournalist

My Favorite photojournalist would probably be Timothy Allen.

What I liked about this photo that Timothy Allen took it at a different angle then most would. This picture just isn’t something you would see normally.

What I like about this photo that Tim Allen took was how the background is in less focus. By doing this he brings more focus on the man with the bird. The colors of the photo is also pretty cool too.

What I enjoy about this picture is that he goes against the normal photo of someone being in the middle of a picture. The rustic colors really bring the photo to life also.

What I like about this picture is the mystery of how he actually took it. Fish are normally afraid of people swimming. The sunshine shinning through the water are also pretty cool.

What I really liked about this photography is how much emotion it is showing. The picture makes you think about really what is going on here. The smoke or dust also looks pretty cool with the black background. The reason Timothy Allen probably made this a black background to make the photo more intense.

Is Cartoon Network dying?

Most people grew up watching Cartoon Network, Disney, and Nick. All of these networks over time have gotten new shows and have basically changed their overall image. What I mean by this is that there overall quality of shows has changed drastically. Shows used to be more story driven and have darker then while now days they are bright and colorful and go off silliness. 

I’ve read a lot about how older people are basically disappointed in Cartoon network due to all the shows it shows now. And with the fact that the few shows that are amazing are ending, they are wondering what could replace them. 

What I seriously don’t understand is why Cartoon Network continues to reimburse and revamp 90’s and early 2000’s cartoons with new art styles, and new plots. It’s obvious that they’re trying to appeal to the 90’s generation to get them back into watching Cartoon Network again. It’s all about business, and they’re using this tactic to gain back the audience they once had.
In my option they have the right idea of trying to get the older people watching it again, but the wrong idea of trying to bring back old shows. When a show ends it’s supposed to be over forever. Now back to the question if cartoon nexwork is dead. To me it’s not, it’s making improvements and it’s at least trying. It’s a lot more then what Disney or nick is doing in my opinion.
